Report: Wallach interviews for Tigers' job

Los Angeles Dodgers third-base coach Tim Wallach interviewed for the Detroit Tigers' managerial job on Friday, according to MLive.com.

Wallach has two years of managerial experience at the Class AAA level. He played 17 years in the majors. He was selected to five All-Star Games was a three-time Gold Glove third baseman.

Wallach played for the Montreal Expos (1980-92), Dodgers (1993-96) and California Angels (1996). He managed the Dodgers' Class AAA affiliate in Albuquerque in 2009-10. He was named the Dodgers' third-base coach after the 2010 season.

CBSSports.com previously reported that Lloyd McLendon also interviewed for the Tigers' job. He was a coach on Jim Leyland's staff for eight seasons. Leyland announced his retirement this week.
