Sacred Heart University is looking for a new athletic director, and the Connecticut Post reported that former Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine might be a candidate. According to the report, Valentine visited the Sacred Heart campus in Fairfield, Conn., about two weeks ago and is among several candidates to fill the vacancy when current athletic director Don Cook retires this year. Valentine, who was fired by the Red Sox after just one season as their manager, is a native of Stamford, Conn. Valentine has served as the Director of Public Safety and Health for the city of Stamford, but he has no experience in college sports administration.
