Report: Shaughnessy agrees to one-year deal with Cardinals

Defensive end Matt Shaughnessy, who played his first four seasons with the Oakland Raiders, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, Pro Football Talk reported Friday.

The Cardinals also signed cornerback Antoine Cason to a one-year contract, the Arizona Republic reported. He started all 16 games for the San Diego Chargers last season.

Shaughnessy's base salary will be $1 million, with incentive bonuses based on playing time and sacks.

Shaughnessy decided to agree to a one-year deal with the hope of improving his value after next season.

He started all 16 games for the Raiders in 2012, when he had 3.5 sacks.
