The Kansas City Royals have signed infielder Miguel Tejada to a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to spring training, ESPN Deportes reported Monday. Tejada, 38, will receive $1.1 million if he makes the club. Tejada was the American League MVP in 2002 and was an All-Star as recently as 2009. But he has not played in the Major Leagues since 2011, when he hit .239 for the San Francisco Giants. He hit .259 with no homers with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate last season.
