The Washington Redskins officially ruled out tight end Jordan Reed for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons because of a concussion.
Reed has missed the previous three games because of the injury.
The rookie did not practice this week. The team listed Reed as questionable on Friday's injury report but downgraded him Saturday. In previous weeks, he was limited in practice. Reed also had two concussions in college at Florida.
Coach Mike Shanahan denied reports Friday that Reed is out for the season.
Reed has 45 catches for 499 yards with three touchdowns.
Veteran tight end Fred Davis will likely be active. Davis, a former starter, has just five catches for 38 yards in seven games this season as has been slowed by injuries.
The Redskins also have tight end Logan Paulsen, but he is primarily a blocker.
