Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis
is not expected to return from a torn triceps for the rest of the regular season, according to the NFL Network.
The Ravens have until 4 p.m. ET Saturday to add Lewis to their 53-man roster for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Lewis has been practicing for the past three weeks. He sustained the injury two months ago.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh responded to reports Friday that Lewis might play by saying only that he was "coming along."
Friday's reports also said that it would be left to team doctors and coaches to decide if Lewis can play or not.
