Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce was rubbed and carjacked at gunpoint Sunday night in Philadelphia, according to the CBS TV affiliate in Philadelphia.

CBS 3 reported that according to sources Pierce and a male friend were not injured in the incident. A gunman reportedly jumped from a car, robbed Pierce and his friend, took Pierce's vehicle and then left the scene, following an accomplice in another vehicle.

The car was later recovered in another part of Philadelphia. It was processed for possible evidence that might lead police to the suspect.

A Ravens official told CBS 3 that the team had spoken with Pierce and was "aware of the situation."

Pierce was a rookie for the Super Bowl champion Ravens last season, rushing for 532 yards and one touchdown on 108 carries. He was drafted from Temple University, located in Philadelphia, in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
