The Rams will release CB Ron Bartell, who suffered a season-ending neck injury in Week One last season.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune first reported the move.
Bartell suffered two fractures to the C7 bone in his lower neck in Week One. He was set to earn $6.2 million in 2012.
A seventh-year veteran, Bartell has spent his entire career with the Rams. In 2010, he played in 15 games with 13 starts, totaling 61 tackles and 10 passes defensed.
PFW correspondent Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the team will also cut DE James Hall. In 15 games last season, Hall had six sacks. The 12-year veteran has 63 career sacks and has been with the Rams since 2007.
