Report: Pacquiao's wife wants him to quit; figters' drug tests negative

Although Manny Pacquiao plans to continue fighting, his wife wants him to quit now, USA Today reported.

Also, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced Friday that Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez both tested negative for any banned substances in the drug tests they were administered in conjunction with Saturday's fight.

That result is unlikely to influence Jinkee Pacquiao's feelings, though. She watched as her husband remained motionless for several seconds after getting knocked out by Marquez on Saturday.

"It's the first time I've seen him like that, lying on the canvas, and I was scared,'' Jinkee, 33, told USA Today.

She said she began screaming and crying before promoter Bob Arum comforted her.

"I know he is still (capable) of fighting, but for me there is nothing to prove," he told USA Today. "He already has eight (title) belts. He can retire - stop - at anytime. I want him to stop now. But he is the one who has the last say. Boxers risk their lives; (some) end up in wheelchairs. I don't want that to happen to Manny.''

Arum told Filipino reporters he will have Pacquiao undergo extensive brain tests at the Cleveland Clinic in Las Vegas -- at Arum's expense -- after the first of the year.
