Although the Maloof family, which owns the Sacramento Kings, is negotiating with a Seattle group that wants to buy the team and move it to Seattle, another party has shown an interest in purchasing the Kings and keeping them in Sacramento, CBSSports.com reported Friday. Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24-Hour Fitness, has an interest in buying the team and keeping it where it is. "Definitely, there've been conversations," Mastrov told CBSSports.com. "Definitely, there's interest in acquiring the team and keeping it in Sacramento." Mastrov met with the Maloofs recently, and, according to the CBSSports.com report, Mastrov has made a formal offer. Mastrov had made a bid to purchase the Golden State Warriors, but lost out to Joe Lacob and Peter Guber. The Seattle group negotiating to buy the Kings is led by hedge-fund manager Chris Hansen and Microsoft's Steve Ballmer. Those discussions continue, but no formal agreement has been reached, according to the report.
