Report: Nkemdiche decommits from Clemson

Robert Nkemdiche, the No. 1 football recruit in the country for the Class of 2013, has decommitted from Clemson University, according to ESPN.com's RecruitingNation.

Nkemdiche's high school coach Mickey Conn told RecruitingNation via text message.

Nkemdiche initially denied reports Wednesday that he had backed away from his commitment, saying, "That is just people talking. I have not done anything or made plans to do anything. They are just talking. I have not decommitted from Clemson."

Conn confirmed Thursday morning that Nkemdiche changed his mind.

Nkemdiche told RecruitingNation on Thursday that he's no longer talking about his status.

Nkemdiche could be considering Ole Miss, where his brother, Denzell, is a linebacker, according to the report.
