    Report: NBC extends contract to cover Tour de France

    NBC's contract to televise the Tour de France was extended through 2023, according to the Sports Business Daily, and for the first time, a U.S. network will televise two of the legs of next month's Tour de France live.

    The race's opening and closing stages will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network.

    The July 7 and 8 stages will be carried live on NBC's flagship network.

    The current deal had two years remaining. The new 10-year extension will include a nightly studio show during the event on NBC Sports Network.
