Report: NBA's Warriors ownrs may have interest in MLB's A's

Joe Lacob and Peter Guber, owners of the NBA's Golden State Warriors, are reportedly interested in bidding for Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics, according to a report Wednesday by East Bay Express.

The report indicated that the pair would like to keep the A's in Oakland and may even be interested in a prior proposal from another group to build a new 38,000-seat ballpark that abuts the Port of Oakland's Howard Terminal, according to CBSSports.com.

The A's have sought to move about 60 miles away to San Jose, but the San Francisco Giants have so far been able to block the move, citing territorial claim to the area. In addition, current A's owner Lew Wolff does not appear inclined to spend money for a new ballpark, claiming there's no suitable site in the Oakland area, as well. Wolff has already said he's not interested in the Port of Oakland site.
