The conference musical chairs continued Wednesday with multiple reports saying that Middle Tennessee State and Florida Atlantic would join Conference USA as a replacement for Tulane and East Carolina
The addition of Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic would boost C-USA membership back to 14.
Louisville set off a chain reaction when the Atlantic Coast Conference that it was adding the Cardinals to replace Maryland, which will depart for the Big Ten. Conference USA lost Tulane to the Big East as a full member and East Carolina as a football-playing participant.
Conference USA has not yet confirmed the additions, but MTSU's announcement is expected to come Thursday. It's uncertain when an announcement on Florida Atlantic's move will come.
Both schools are members of the Sun Belt Conference and are expected to join Conference USA in 2013.
