Report: Mets to call up Ike Davis Friday

First baseman Ike Davis, who was sent down to the minors less than a month ago when he was hitting .161 with five homers, will rejoin the New York Mets on Friday for their series against the Milwaukee Brewers, ESPNNewYork.com reported.

Davis, 26, hit .293 with seven home runs in 92 plate appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas. He homered in each of his last two games.

Apparently he worked out some of the flaws in his swing with the help of Las Vegas manager Wally Backman and hitting coach George Greer.
