Report: Lions hiring Cooter as QBs coach

The Detroit Lions are hiring Jim Bob Cooter as quarterbacks coach, according to CBS Sports.

Cooter, 29, was an offensive assistant with the Denver Broncos.

Before working with the Broncos, Cooter was a quality control coach with the Kansas City Chiefs. He also spent three seasons as an offensive assistant with the Indianapolis Colts under Jim Caldwell, who now coaches the Lions.

Cooter played collegiately at Tennessee as a walk-on quarterback.
