Pau Gasol and Steve Nash both participated in the Los Angeles Lakers' practice on Monday, and Gasol might play in Tuesday's game against Charlotte, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reported Monday.
Gasol, who has missed the past eight games with tendinitis in both knees, will be a game-time decision Tuesday, according to the report, while Nash, who has been out since breaking a bone in his leg in the second game, hopes to return to action on Christmas Day.
The Lakers only had a light workout Monday with no 5-on-5 scrimmaging, so it's difficult to determine how much progress Nash and Gasol have made.
But the fact that they participated in practice is encouraging for the Lakers.
Gasol had said on Friday that he was unlikely to return to game action until next Saturday.
Gasol is averaging a career-low 12.6 points and 8.8 rebounds in the 17 games he's played this season.
