Report: Harbaugh didn't want Reed back in Baltimore

National Football Post

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh apparently wasn't all that unhappy when veteran safety Ed Reed walked out the door as a free agent and signed with the Houston Texans, says Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun.

Preston compared Harbaugh wanting Reed back in Baltimore  to wanting "a root canal," whlie the national media made the story into a bidding war between Ravens and Texans.

This apparently stems from complaints by Reed and fellow safety Bernard Pollard who objected to the way Harbaugh did some things, including wanting a padded practice after an embarrassing loss to the Houston Texans.

The Ravens released Pollard shortly after winning the Super Bowl and Pollard, who signed with the Tennessee Titans told 104.5 The Zone in Nashville recently that he was offended by reports that he tried to lead a locker room mutiny. In that same interview, Pollard said appreciated having a coach now in Mike Munchak who had played in the NFL, a bit of a backhanded swipe at Harbaugh.
