Four Marshall football players were arrested, jailed and charged with misdemeanor offenses over the weekend, Huntingtonnews.net reported Sunday.
The players involved are senior running back Martin Ward (charged with disorderly conduct), sophomore defensive back Phillip Warren (disorderly conduct, battery on a police officer, obstructing an officer), freshman linebacker Stefone Grace (disorderly conduct, obstruction) and freshman cornerback Corrie Wilson (obstructing an officer and fleeing on foot).
No further details on the incident were available.
"We are aware of the situation and are currently gathering all of the facts pertaining to this issue," Marshall football coach Doc Holiday said in a statement. "Once that process is complete, we will handle the matter appropriately."
Ward had five carries for 21 yards in 2011, and Warren had 26 tackles.
