Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan spent Sunday trying to be the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, be he and the Falcons have already begun talks about a contract extension, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported Sunday. According to Glazer, that deal will take on the look of a "mega-contract." The 2013 season will be the final year of Ryan's six-year deal worth $66 million. He is scheduled to be paid $10 million next season, but, according to the report, the Falcons may want to discard the final year of that deal and reward Ryan with a new contract. Speculation is that a new multiyear deal for Ryan could be worth about $100 million. Ryan has a 56-22 regular-season record as Atlanta's starting quarterback, including 13-3 in 2012.
