The Dallas Mavericks agreed to a three-year deal with free agent guard Monta Ellis, ESPN.com reported Friday.
The deal is reportedly for at least $25 million, but could reach up to $30 million depending on the Mavericks' salary cap space after completing other deals being worked on.
Ellis joins an overhauled backcourt that includes point guard Jose Calderon and Devin Harris.
Ellis has a career scoring average of 19.4 points per game and last season averaged 19.2 points and 6.0 assists for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Also the Mavericks are negotiating with free-agent center Samuel Dalembert and signed first-round pick Shane Larkin and Israeli free-agent point guard Gal Mekel.
