Report: Drew agrees to become Bucks' head coach

The SportsXchange

Larry Drew has agreed to become the Milwaukee Bucks' head coach, general manager John Hammond confirmed Friday, ESPN.com reported.

Drew agreed to a four-year deal that will pay him $10 million, according to the report.

An official annoucement of the hiring is expected soon.

Houston Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson was the other finalist for the job, which became vacant when the Bucks fired interim head coach Jim Boylan after the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

Drew, 55, had a 128-102 regular-season record in his three season as the Atlanta Hawks head coach, but he was dismissed this season after the team lost in the first round of the postseason.
