Dolphins LB Koa Misi pled no contest to felony battery charges. He agreed to pay a Santa Barbara County resident $42,000.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Misi allegedly punched the resident in the face in April 2011 after a man made nasty comments to Misi and his friends. As part of the plea deal, Misi paid for medical expenses and agreed to 400 hours of community service.
An NFL spokesman told the paper that the incident falls under the league’s personal-conduct policy, and Misi could be suspended and/or fined.
The third-year player has 33 tackles, 1½ sacks and one forced fumble this season.
