The Arizona Diamondbacks reached agreement with free-agent pitcher Bronson Arroyo on a two-year contract with an option year, ESPN.com reported Friday.

The contract calls for Arroyo to make $9.5 million in base salary in 2014 and in 2015, according to the report.

The deal includes an $11 million club option for 2016 and a $4.5 million buyout. If the Diamondbacks do not exercise the option, Arroyo will get $23.5 million.

The right-handed Arroyo, who turns 37 later this month, was 14-12 with a 3.79 ERA last season for the Cincinnati Reds. For his career, he is 138-127 with a 4.19 ERA.
