Veteran free-agent defensive back Charles Woodson will visit with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, according to NFL.com.
At age 36 and after 14 years with Oakland and Green Bay, Woodson is on the downside of his career. But he's looking to sign with a contender after the Packers released him during the offseason.
The 49ers could be a fit with safety Dashon Goldson apparently headed to Tampa Bay as a free agent.
Woodson was limited to seven games and one interception in 2012, but the previous year he intercepted seven passes. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and a former Heisman Trophy winner while at Michigan.
