The Cardinals fined DE Darnell Dockett six figures for an altercation with teammate S Kerry Rhodes, according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910.
During last week’s loss to the Jets, Dockett allegedly spit at Rhodes, as he objected to the team’s plan to let the Jets score. Rhodes denied that a spit occurred.
“It’s something that I don’t believe in, something that I didn’t understand,” Dockett said this week, according to The Associated Press. “It was frustrating at the time. At the end of the day, I am never, never going to lay down and quit. I’ve been playing football for over 20 years. I’ve given this organization, I’ve given Florida State, I’ve given my high school everything I’ve got. I love the game. I play with passion and I’ll never quit.”
Juercki also reported that Dockett could have a limited role in this Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. Dockett has started all 11 games he has played this season and has 30 tackles, 1½ sacks and four passes defensed.
