Report: Bulls, Deng discussing extension

The Chicago Bulls and small forward Luol Deng have begun talks on a contract extension, according to a Yahoo! Sports report.

Deng, 28, has one year and $14.3 million left on his deal with Chicago. Herb Rudoy, the representative for the former 7th overall pick in the 2004 draft, has held broad discussions with Bulls management since the end of the team's playoff run, and plans to speak more specifically in the coming weeks, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Deng missed the final two games of the Eastern Conference first-round win over the Brooklyn Nets, as well as the entire conference semifinals against the Miami Heat after complications arose from a spinal tap.
