Report: Buccaneers trying to trade CB Wright

The SportsXchange

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly looking to trade cornerback Eric Wright.

NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reported Saturday that the Buccaneers want to deal Wright, but that may be difficult to do.

Tampa Bay signed Wright to a contract last year that pays him $7.75 for the 2013 season. But because of his four-game suspension last season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy, his salary is not guaranteed.

It is expected that Wright would have to agree to take a pay cut to facilitate a trade. He still has four years and nearly $30 million left on his deal. Otherwise, the team may cut him.

Wright made 27 tackles, had seven passes defensed and had an interception return for a touchdown in 10 games last year.
