Report: Browns interview Chudzinksi

The SportsXchange

Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski interviewed for the Cleveland Browns' head coaching job Wednesday, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, while the team was set to interview Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer later in the day, according to FOXSports.com.

Chudzinksi interviewed with Jacksonville, St. Louis and Tampa Bay last year, but was ultimately passed over.

Chudzinski has spent plenty of time in Ohio - He grew up in Toledo and served as the Browns' offensive coordinator from 2007-08. He was also the team's tight ends coach in 2004.

After a 2011 season in which the Panthers piled up yards and points, it wasn't surprising to see Chudzinski get interviews. But considering Carolina's disappointing 2012, which included a very inconsistent offense and some question about whether Chudzinski would return next season, it'd be a shocker if he landed the Browns' top job.

The Browns reportedly interviewed Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman of the CFL on Tuesday, and could interview Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians later this week.
