The Broncos will be without RB Willis McGahee for at least the rest of the regular season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen reported that McGAhee tore his MCL and will be out 6-8 weeks. According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, McGahee also has a fracture in the leg, which explains the expected long absence.
McGahee, 31, has 167 carries for 731 yards and four touchdowns this season, to go along with 26 catches for 221 yards. He rushed for 1,199 yards last season.
The way we see it
This is definitely a blow to the Broncos, but not as bad as it would have been last year, when McGahee meant much more to the offense. Denver likes Hillman and this gives him a big opportunity. Ball is a reliable third-down back and the team could get Knowshon Moreno back into the mix, or add a veteran back.
