San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith has passed concussion tests and could start Monday night against Chicago, ESPN reported Wednesday.
Smith was hit in the first quarter of Sunday's game against St. Louis on a scramble and then was sacked and tackled hard on a keeper. Before Smith left the game, he threw a touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree.
Colin Kaepernick replaced Smith and finished with 117 yards passing and 66 yards rushing in the 24-24 tie.
