The Baltimore Orioles acquired veteran reliever Francisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night for minor league infielder Nick Delmonico, MLB.com reported.
The 31-year-old Rodriguez has posted 10 saves and a 1.09 ERA in 24 2/3 innings this year for the Brewers. He has 304 career saves and a 2.64 ERA in 12 major league seasons with the Angels, New York Mets and the Brewers.
Delmonico, 20, is hitting .244 with 13 home runs for high-Class A Frederick in the Carolina League this season. He has played first, second and third base in the minors.
To make room on the roster for Rodriguez, the Orioles moved outfielder Nolan Reimold to the 60-day disabled list. Reimold is out for the season after undergoing surgery to fuse two vertebrae in his spine.
Rodriguez will join a Baltimore bullpen that includes closer Jim Johnson, who has struggled recently.
