Reliever Belisario lands with White Sox

Reliever Ronald Belisario reached an agreement on a one-year, $3 million contract with the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, according to a report.

Belisario was non-tendered by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday and immediately drew interest from the White Sox, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels, the Chicago Tribune reported.

He is expected to be a setup man for White Sox closer Addison Reed next season.

The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 5-7 record with one save and a 3.97 ERA in 77 outings last season for the Dodgers. Belisario has a 20-12 record with four saves and a 3.29 ERA in 273 major league appearances spanning four seasons with Los Angeles.

The deal will become official once Belisario passes a physical.
