The Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters resumed on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Fistral Beach in Newquay, England. The weather conditions were much better than yesterday. As such, the surfers were able to post larger scores and show off their best maneuvers. Here's a quick look at some of the early results:

Round 96 Results

Round 96 clearly belonged to Filipe Toledo (BRA). He delivered an absolutely stunning display of skill during his Heat 17 matchup against Brandon Jackson (ZAF), William Aliotti (FRA) and Eneko Acero (EUK). He managed to fire off a 9.17 point ride, an 8.37 point ride and an 8 point ride. They were some of the best wave scores of the round.

Other standout moments during Round 96 were Hodei Collazo's 8.33 point ride, Wiggolly Dantas's 8.17 point ride, Medi Veminardi's 8.07 point ride and Vasco Ribeiro's 8 point ride.

Round 48 Results

Round 48 also kicked off on Wednesday with a matchup between Glenn Hall (IRL), Thiago Camarao (BRA), Dion Atkinson (AUS) and Carlos Munoz (CRI). Glenn Hall opened up the surf heat with a gorgeous 7.83 point ride. I was really impressed with his surfing. Thiago Camarao answered back with a sweet 7.40 point ride. In the end, Hall won the surf heat with 13.50 points. He is expected to surf again in Round 24, Heat 1 against Luel Felipe (BRA).

Heat 5 featured Wiggolly Dantas (BRA), Krystian Kymerson (BRA), Granger Larsen (HAW) and Jay Thompson (AUS). Dantas was looking good. He delivered a series of bucket-throwing hacks that translated into a 6.67 point ride, a 6.93 point ride and an 8.13 point ride. I couldn't believe how much spray he kicked up with each power move. Larsen also put on a wonderful display of surfing skill. He managed to deliver a 7.93 point ride and a 7.10 point ride. Wiggolly Dantas won the surf heat with 15.63 points. He is predicted to surf again in Round 24, Heat 3.
