Reed 'embarrassed' over Ravens' poor showing

National Football Post

It wasn't a game that Ed Reed will have included in the highlight reel of his likely Hall of Fame career with the Baltimore Ravens.

Reed called it like he saw it after a poor performance by the Ravens in a 34-17 thrashing from the Denver Broncos on Sunday, saying he is embarrassed for himself and the city.

"We were in a giving mood. ... We didn't play football. I was embarrassed. I am embarrassed as a player to come out and perform the way we have. As a Ravens nation, as a player, I am embarrassed for our city," Reed told the Baltimore Sun.

Reed and Cary Williams had some communication problems that resulted in an Eric Decker TD reception, after which Reed kicked his helmet on the sidelines in frustration.

Reed was also hurdled by Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno while trying to make a tackle as Baltimore was carved up for 350 total yards by Peyton Manning and Denver.
