Redskins waive two, place Carriker on PUP

Safeties Jordan Bernstine and Devin Holland were waived by the Washington Redskins, who also placed defensive end Adam Carriker, offensive lineman Maurice Hurt and cornerback Josh Wilson on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list to open training camp.

Bernstine was a seventh-round pick in 2012 who played in the regular-season opener as a rookie before being placed on injured reserve.

Holland joined the Redskins on Jan. 3 after not playing in the NFL last season.

Carriker is recovering from a second surgery on the quad injuy that landed him on injured reserve last September. Wilson is recovering from shoulder surgery.

Players placed on PUP to begin training camp can be activated at any time.
