Alfred Morris had a big night on the ground, but it wasn't enough to avoid a loss for the Redskins against the Vikings, 34-27, in Minneapolis.
Robert Griffin III lit up the Vikings for three scores on 24 of 37 passing for 281 yards and no interceptions. For the Vikings, Christian Ponder wound up 17 for 21 with 174 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick.
Morris was a key factor for the Redskins, rushing for 139 yards on 26 carries. Pierre Garcon was a leading receiver, hauling in seven passes for 119 yards with a score.
The Washington defense gave up 91 yards rushing and 221 passing. They got to Ponder once for a sack.
Vikings tight end John Carlson could not be contained, putting up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown. Running back Adrian Peterson also had a good game with 75 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The Redskins head to Philadelphia next week to face the Eagles (4-5) while the Vikings go to Seattle to play the Seahawks (8-1).
