Redskins Squeeze Past Titans, 19-17
Pierre Garcon had a big day receiving, leading the way to a tight win for the Redskins over the Titans, 19-17, at home.
Kirk Cousins didn't throw any touchdown passes and came away 10 for 16 for only 139 yards, one pick and one fumble. On the Titans side, Charlie Whitehurst went 17 for 26 with 160 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick.
Roy Helu Jr. rushed for 29 yards on five carries. Garcon was a weapon for the offense, catching five passes for 87 yards with a touchdown.
The Washington defense also played a big role in the victory, allowing only 76 yards rushing and 160 passing while coming away with one interception. They managed to get to Whitehurst for one sack.
Finally, Kai Forbath was perfect, making all four of the field goals he attempted.
Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright put up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Redskins head to Arlington next week to face off with the Cowboys (6-1) while the Titans will play host to the Texans (3-3).
