The Washington Redskins signed two more rookies - second-round cornerback David Amerson and fourth-round pick safety Phillip Thomas. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Amerson finished his career at N.C. State with a school-record 18 interceptions while starting 35 of 39 games. However, he struggled in high profile matchups in 2012, and slipped from a first-round prospect to the No. 51 overall pick after forgoing his final year of eligibility. Some NFL scouts question whether Amerson, who led the nation with 13 interceptions in 2011, has the speed to remain at cornerback or if he will ultimately transition to free safety.
Last season Thomas became the first player in Fresno State history to be named as a unanimous All-American first-team selection after leading the nation with eight interceptions. He finished his career with 13 picks while starting 24 of 39 games he appeared in.
