In search of a healthy back after losing Tim Hightower to IR with a torn ACL, the Washington Redskins claimed Tashard Choice off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.
Washington released Brandyn Thompson, a rookie cornerback from Boise State, to make room for Choice. The question for the Redskins is just how healthy is Choice? He was waived/injured by the Cowboys, meaning they acknowledged he wasn’t totally healthy. Choice suffered a shoulder injury Oct. 23 against St. Louis and also has a hamstring issue.
Mike Shanahan is known for getting terrific production from running backs that come from all corners. Perhaps Choice is the next back he can get up and running, but the Redskins’ offense looks to be in a bad spot right now after being shut out by the Buffalo Bills.
