Phillip Buchanon had to wait through the first four games of the season to suit up for the Washington Redskins as he served a four-game suspension for violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
Now, he’ll have to wait for next season to play. The Redskins placed the veteran cornerback on season-ending injured reserve today. He played in only one game, and has neck and knee injuries plaguing him.
Washington promoted cornerback Brandyn Thompson from the practice squad to fill the vacant spot. A seventh-round pick this season from Boise State, Thompson has appeared in two games.
