Redskins place Kehl, Robinson on IR

The Washington Redskins placed linebacker Bryan Kehl and long snapper Nick Sundberg on injured reserve and waived safety Jordan Pugh.

Linebacker Josh Hull, long snapper Kyle Nelson and safety Trenton Robinson were signed to the active roster as the team attempts to improve its special teams units.

Sundberg injured his knee in Sunday's loss against Dallas and will be replaced by Nelson, who signed with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He has spent time with the Saints, Chiefs, 49ers, Eagles, Chargers and Seahawks over the past three seasons.

Kehl suffered a torn ACL against the Cowboys. He had been the team leader with six special teams tackles this season.

Hull was a seventh-round pick by St. Louis in 2010 who has appeared in 28 career NFL games. He was released by the Rams during final roster cuts out of training camp this year.

Robinson, 23, played at Michigan State, but has no NFL experience.
