Redskins' Griffin OK after knee injury

The SportsXchange

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III left Sunday's game against Denver with a knee injury, but Dr. James Andrews said Griffin is OK, NFL Media reported.

Griffin was replaced by Kirk Cousins with 4:11 left in the game after Griffin took a big hit from Broncos nose tackle Terrance Knighton in the previous series. Griffin was examined by the team's medical staff, but he was walking around on the sidelines after that.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said in his postgame news conference that Griffin was kept out "due to the score."

The Broncos led 38-21 at the time.
