The Redskins cut PK Neil Rackers on Monday, giving the PK job to incumbent Graham Gano.

Rackers, 36, who was signed as a free agent to challenge Gano, made 1-of-2 FG attempts this preseason. Gano, 25, missed a league-high 10 field goals last season (31-of-41), although five were blocked. He has made 74 percent of his FG attempts in his two-plus seasons in Washington.

The Redskins also traded CB Kevin Barnes to the Lions for a conditional draft pick. Barnes, who was battling for a nickel CB job, was a third-round pick by the team in 2009. He has three interceptions and three starts in 29 career games.

Other cuts made by the team on Monday include: OL James Lee and OL Tony Moll. The team waived RB Antwon Bailey, RB Lennon Creer, OL Chris Campbell, WR Sam Kirkland, LB Monte Lewis, OL Nick Martinez, TE Beau Reliford and QB Jonathan Crompton.

The team also reached injury settlements with CB Morgan Trent and WR Lance Lewis, who have been injured for the most of the preseason.

In addition, ORT Jammal Brown was moved from the active/PUP list to the reserve/PUP list after undergoing hip surgery.
