The Washington Redskins
have activated cornerback Cedric Griffin
from the Reserve/Exempt list to their active roster, the team announced Friday.
Griffin was reinstated by the NFL on Monday following a four-game suspension for a violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Griffin played in nine games, including one start, for the Redskins this season. He had 43 tackles, seven passes defensed and two forced fumbles.
The Redskins also placed cornerback D.J. Johnson on its Reserve/Injured list and signed free agent linebacker Ricky Elmore to a Reserve/Futures contract.
