Reds P Cingrani leaves game with injury

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Tony Cingrani, who recently spent time on the disabled list because of a back problem, was removed from Tuesday's game in the second inning because of back spasms, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Cingrani allowed two earned runs on three hits and a walk over 1 2/3 innings before being replaced by Greg Reynolds.

Cingrani entered the game with a 7-2 record and a 2.80 ERA.

Cingrani was taken off the disabled list on Sept. 5 after missing 11 days with the lower back strain. If he continues to have back problems, the Reds may turn to Johnny Cueto to fill Cingrani's spot in the rotation.

Cueto was expected to be used as a reliever when he returns from a right lat strain.
