Reds' Chapman throws again, feels fine

Cincinnati Reds left-hander Aroldis Chapman threw for the first time since being shut down Monday with shoulder fatigue. He had no problems.

"We said five to seven days," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "This is day No. 4. It helps that we have a couple of off days in there, it's not like he's missing seven games."

Chapman agreed.

"A few more days, I'll be ready," he said through a translator.

Next week?

"Maybe," he said in English.

Chapman had a small press conference before Friday's 4-0 loss to the Miami Marlins. Miami is Chapman's adopted home.

He isn't happy about missing the series here.

"I don't feel good," Chapman said. "I wish this happened earlier in the year. This is the time of the season when we are on the final stretch. We would like to be better."

But Chapman is confident he'll be strong in the postseason.

"By October, I hope to be a lot better," he said.
