    Red Wings sign Jurco

    The Detroit Red Wings signed 2011 second-round draft pick Tomas Jurco to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Tuesday.

    A transfer agreement between the International Ice Hockey Federation and Slovakian Ice Hockey Federation had delayed a contract agreement with the Red Wings.

    Jurco is expected to join Detroit's American Hockey League affiliate in Grand Rapids this season.
