The Boston Red Sox avoided arbitration with left-handed reliever Craig Breslow by agreeing to a two-year contract, pending a physical, Yahoo! Sports reported Saturday. The deal is reportedly worth $6.25 million with an option for 2015. That could bring the value up to $10.15 million. Breslow requested $2.375 million and was offered $2.325 million from the team when the two sides exchanged arbitration figures on Friday. Breslow, 32, had a 2.70 ERA and a 61/22 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 63 1/3 innings last year with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Red Sox. His career ERA is 3.00 ERA.
