Red Bulls terminate Wilman Conde's contract

The New York Red Bulls announced that they reached a deal with defender Wilman Conde to to terminate his contract.

Conde played one season for the Red Bulls, making 17 appearances and notching one goal and one assist. The Red Bulls acquired his rights from Chicago in January 2012 in exchange for allocation money.

The 30-year-old Colombian was a standout during his time in Chicago, but struggled with injuries during his season with the Red Bulls. A run-in with police and a locker room bust-up with Thierry Henry further blighted his time with the club.

Conde earned a base salary of $125,000 and a guaranteed salary of $141,667 in 2012, according to the MLS Players Union.
